Maya Angelou, born April 4, 1928 as Marguerite Johnson in St. Louis, was raised in segregated rural Arkansas. She is a poet, historian, author, actress, playwright, civil-rights activist, producer and director. She lectures throughout the US and abroad and is Reynolds professor of American Studies at Wake Forest University in North Carolina since 1981. She has published ten best selling books and numerous magazine articles earning her Pulitzer Prize and National Book Award nominations. Take a moment to learn something about Maya Angelo.

Though my faults are many I retain 20/15 vision. Proof of that will be my placement in the military 1000yd championship at Camp Perry in August. You being a an Ohio resident @Forgewright should make it a point to come and join............................BTW I did like the poem, yours more than hers in fact.
OK @Forgewright I am definitely impressed. I adore Maya Angelou and I think your interpretation is well crafted and insightful. The directness of the words you chose have quite a chilling affect. I would encourage you to try this exercise again... Very cool.
