Oh, beautiful dreamer,
even now that last good night
peers over your left shoulder
to read these lines with eyes
certain as eternity.

Even now it gathers,
a dark midnight wave
seeking to engulf your light.
Reaching out with grim ancient fingers
to take you back to that first black void.
To take you back.
To take you.

Oh, sleeping dreamer,
you walk within now's boundary
recording, distorting, savoring
moments.

Look into this stream and find your face.
Layer by layer
turn and trace your footsteps
etched upon the water.

Oh, dreamer of one dream,
what do they become
the names, the numbers, the facts,
the facets of your time?

The cliffs that face the sea
while the shore birds wheel counter clock?

The huddled clouds that glide above, and shade
the summer grasslands far below, yellow
in the sun, orange in the warm?

warm as your skin as she
                  denies introspection
                    begins the ages
                  dance within without
                     all fire turned touch
                  within she smiles without
                     you ride her kisses
                     breathe her breathe
                     are swallowed and released

Dear sweet dreamer,
when you are finally touched
what will become of the whale's song?

There is an undeniable magic in both night and sleep, and dreams are the perfect proof. You wonderfully described the beauty within them. A dream is truly a journey, and it is almost bittersweet when a dream ends. I enjoyed the soft, peaceful tone of the poem as well-it truly added to the overall thought. Well done.
