my name is Robert im 44 and didn't know there were places like this... im so excited I couldn't wait long enough to navigate through the faq and only read 2 posts. first I would like to tell you about myself and my writing exserence. mom was an avid reader everynight she read at a very early age I was introduced to louise lamore  by the time I hit high school I had read almost all his books. and so forth emerged the love of a great story.and storyteller.

school not one of my favorite places was replaced at 17 with a job with my uncle hanging drywall.. and so forth any chance of collage was ended like a a cracked egg. so for a long time ive been stuck working hard .. about 20 years ago I started singing playing guitar and writing songs.. which gave me a creative outlet and a dream of being a song writer..and as much as I love that and of how good I am at it in a common way. this last year has brought me to the realization in two important things 1 anything I do that I can be creative doesn't feel like work to me. and 2 I love writing stories it feels as if all of me is working to create a gift to the world . for that creative moment im pouring out my heart and soul without restrictions or doubt in my self or my abilitys is a wonderus feeling....saying that

my spelling is atrosihis  terriable  you know bad...... punctuation not good .... ive never had any writing classes .. but from folks around me they say im good... the stories I read them so all I ask is be brutally honest am I full of myself  is there a chance maybe destiny has found me ...

well  if you read this far at least youll be obligated for curiosity sake to at least read one of my stories...    ty robert

Hi Robert! I say doing what you enjoy and makes you happy is really what's important. So if you like to write than write and the spelling and punctuation will come with practice.  The text box toolbar has a spell check button too, if you hit it after writing it will underline all the misspelled words in red, even that isn't perfect though because sometimes you can spell a word right but really mean another word... Anyways, I look forward to reading some of your work :) .

A writer and I can sense some humor here too. Be yourself Robert. Tell the stories the way you want to. No rules. This is how you come out in your writing. We do just about everything here so let it rip.

We compliment and give advice. Oh... there may be some poking fun too.  Watch out for @tlhopkinson, She is vicious.

Welcome to Thoughts.

For the record, I am pretty sure I only pick on @Forgewright because he's the only one who asks for it ;-)

I've been writing all my life, my mom says I was born with a pen in my hand... that said, I am nearly finished with an English degree in creative writing and have written poetry since grade school and dabbled in other forms of creative writing. I also have done quite a lot of technical and marketing writing in my career. The folks on Thoughts range from high schoolers to old men like @Forgewright :). I think he's like 103 or something :) .

Yes my age has riddled me. I have to use one of those tongue depressor type devices to type. I went to Ohio State for physics and computer science which may have contributed to my longevity. Oh, I only went for one semester and that was just to go and hang out at the mall and score burritos at Taco Bell. I do have a BS but it's a little different than you might think. It might not be official but it gets me by. That and proclivity. That either means I've written for a long time or I'm gay.The latter would explain my fondness of pencils. Ok I'll stop.

I've spent my life traveling around the U.S. mainly but have a few U.K. trips under my belt. Now I'm pretty much broke and think I can secure my old man years by writing. Apparently drugs, alcohol, sex and gambling won't do that.... Luckily I'm a veteran and the free bean soup at the local hall keeps me warm in bed at night.

I worked for the local suicide hotline until I discovered it wasn't a "How-to" help line. Being good at something isn't always a good thing.

Basically I pick on legit writers because i can't write anything over a 3rd grade level. I tried to write a slogan for a laundry soap ad but "See Spot Run" didn't cut it.

I'm an idiot.... There I summed it up.

Hi Robert,

I'm a bit late to your introduction. But in my defense, I've been having fun. And quite honestly writing and computers have been getting in the way of things like fishing, drinking, riding, drinking, shooting, and having the occasional beer or cocktail depending on the mood these days. As far as writing goes I started writing out of necessity to overcome social hangups, and have evolved into a $hithou$e poet of sorts. Though I have a degree in business I have been a life long student of language, poetry and psychology and also international alcohol consumption. I was 8541 in my beloved Corp and occasionally teach long range shooting at my local rifle range.  I see you've drawn the attention of some of locals and I'll tell you they are to a T each and every one fine writers and people to boot. I should not but will go out on a limb and agree with Forge, watch out for TLhopkinson. Don't tell no one but TLhopkinson is actually a front for a Russian Super Computer positioned somewhere out west that was brought here to monitor, distort, and eventually change the English language in order to take over the country. I'll soon have the proof I need to.......................................

Welcome aboard Robert,

KE

I've decided I should do something proactive about these accusations, and therefore decided to wait no longer! Yes, I've done it... I've succumbed to the rigors of the Could You Be A Spy Quiz (http://www.quizrocket.com/spy-test). So for your information, Mr. @Killerelite and my ever burdened Mr. @Forgewright, the results are IN!

PLEASE NOTE: This is very IMPORTANT... Question number 4 is the kicker! (Yes, Forge, I am pointing at you).

I'm an Elite Secret Agent
When it comes to the world of espionage, you are top dog. Smart, tough, and resourceful you always complete your mission. However, your years of spy experience have made you paranoid and untrusting, so you always work alone. This quiz result will self destruct in 5, 4, 3...
