I have cerebral palsy; there I said it, that’s me.

For a long time I prayed to be free.

A beautiful mind trapped in a body of disease.

For a long time this is what I believed.

This physical battle had me feeling defeat.

Am I up against a war that cannot be beat?

But then I realized freedom is in my mind.

My mind is free to dream with no physical bind.

As I began to dream, my mind filled with beautiful words of rhyme.

I could build my own masterpiece in this poet's dream of mine.

Even if I can't do everything physically...

In my poetry is where I find that I am truly free.

So as I go through life I have one main goal,

That you hear all my poems, so I can share my soul.

Man is born to live, not to prepare for life. - Boris Pasternak

Welcome Jenn,

Let me just say this is unequivocally one of the best... if not the best intro I have read. I am blown away by this woot and can't choose the perfect word to describe, so if I had to choose some words they would be: powerful, beautiful, and brilliant.

Perfection; my greatest strength and weakness.

Welcome to Thought Inc. I like your intro a lot and I can suppose that your pieces of poetry are stunning as this one.^^

The displeasure and the resignation kill you: think about the magic of those good moments and don't stop hoping it will happen again, even though they'll never come back

Wow, this blew me away. It's the first time I've seen an intro made with a poem, and this could very well be one of the best intros' I have read. Truly this poem speaks right out of your soul and heart, and that alone makes this intro so special. Jenn, I welcome you heartily to Thoughts Inc. I can't wait to see more of your poetry. smile

I'm breaking constantly, continuously and always, it's just that nobody sees it - but I'm fine with that, as long as there's something to fix me, too. ~ Me

This poem is beautiful, I think you'll find that this is a perfect place to write out your soul, because everyone is waiting to see just how beautiful it can get :) Welcome to thoughts inc Jenn

“I firmly believe that any man's finest hour, the greatest fulfillment of all that he holds dear, is the moment when he has worked his heart out in a good cause and lies exhausted on the field of battle - victorious”

awwwwwwww :)))))
hi.

hiiiiiii!!

should I write or should I go?? :D this is my first time ever in english speaking and writing forum so I am really happy and excited and ready to post and write and scream and aw :))

and I don't know what I am actually supposed to say so I am just going to write random words that come to my mind right now:

dance, africa, fragile, lamp, pink, trembling, smile, smug, power, hug, cuddle, whisper...

Welcome to thoughts dancing humming bird :) You should most definitely write

“I firmly believe that any man's finest hour, the greatest fulfillment of all that he holds dear, is the moment when he has worked his heart out in a good cause and lies exhausted on the field of battle - victorious”
