Hi guys, my name is Jason Norin and obviously, I am a newbie here. I have a question for professional writers who live in the Philippines. I am about to start a new career as a freelance writer. I am searching for an institution that can help me out with my new career until I reached this article - http://talkshop.ph/blog/2013/07/talkshop-workshop-studio-is-now-open/ . That institution offers creative writing courses that can help an individual enhance their writing skills. My question is, has anyone experienced being trained in that kind of school before? If so, is it worth it?

Hi Jason, I do not live in the Philippines. But just wanted to say hello and welcome you to Thoughts. In regard to your question. You were rather vague as to what type of freelance work you'll be doing, so I'll offer advice accordingly. There are literally hundreds of different venues for freelance work. And that being given, I would offer that you narrow down a specific field and study accordingly. Technical writing for catalogs or the medical industry is a much different writing position than journalism or screenwriting. There are hundreds of online resources to point you in the right direction and any literary courses you may take in the short term will certainly be of help to you. Sorry I couldn't offer more, maybe one of the other moddies can chime in...................

Best of luck,
