A silver whisper in my ear

That tells me what I need to hear

Passes through my veins and soul

Reaching my toes

Filling every corner of me

Now this is poetry!

A shadow right behind your spine

A fast image for the naked eye

The sweetest thing to taste

The most valuable thing to chase

A tomb for all my thoughts and words

With a vast knowledge and pearls

But not the usual ones that you see

Oh no, this type is poetry.

Just a glimpse if you will take

You’ll stay forever in the lake

Of wisdom and time

That is yours and mine

That holds ideas from beyond eternity

The place where you can leave your misery

Hide all the pain and bad thoughts

Seal your dreams, make them forever young

Discover beauty in its purest forms

Escape from the monotonous life and chores

Walk among the clouds with gods

Swim with the mermaids of the seas

Fly with the phoenixes high above

Find true love’s first kiss

Here everyone lives on happily

Here, is the land of poetry.

Its might and magic could drag you in insanity

But there’s always a remedy

Your imagination can go wild

No expression will be mild

Just free your heart

And let go of your chain

Grab your paper arms,

Don’t forget to pray

It may hit you one day

And then you’ll say

The oath of the writers

That tightens

The link between you

Your ideas,

And all your faculties

With the spirit of poetry.

Read this several times and liked it more each time. I discoverd that the faster read (after becoming familiar with the content) the more enjoyable it became. There is a sense of urgency underlying...a strong desire to connect and convey your own love of poetry. Well done.

Thank you very much:D I'm glad you liked it.And, yeah, you're right, it's better to read it a little bit faster than usual. It gives the writing a bit more substance and expressiveness.
