four young lads took turns to pull

the rush of speed in their eyes

one sunny day in a frosty lull

hauled the hood of a 49 Oldsmobile

to where land seemed to touch the sky

four young lads took turns to pull

sticks for brakes tied to hinge wells

were held for all four boys

one sunny day in a frosty lull

they waxed the hood with a buffing ball

like it was one of their toys

four young lads took turns to pull

brave hearts for the game’s pull

lust for youth’s adventure in their eyes

one sunny day in a frosty lull

near 70 miles an hour with seconds to spill

a cliff would be the end of me 3 other boys

four young lads took turns to pull

one sunny day in a frosty lull
