"Lost Souls" by uniquelylost

There is a town everyone has driven through

From the outside it all looks on queue

It’s a rather quiet place during the day

To the untrained eye this looks like a good place to stay

However, once you see what’s really behind the nice neighborhoods,

with green fields and fresh cut grass

It’s evident that these peoples future was in the past

The story I write is not fiction

Rather the aftermath of an addiction

I try to think back

These people try to tell the past like it’s a fact

Time has sown together the fabric

And I've witnessed enough addicts

To know one day you'll end up in plastic

Just another consequence of the game played

Everyone pays for every wrong move that’s been made

So for all those missing

If only they would have listened

Their dreams could have glistened

In the eyes of another

Maybe their brother or significant other

The beginning was the beginning of the end

But after the sun descends………….. reality bends

I know this must be hard to comprehend

Listening to all those unheard baby’s cry’s

And mothers with teary eyes

Just hoping day will break and the sun will rise

As these words spill down the pages

Who is the victim of the rages?

The people who couldn't with stand the taste,

will just be replaced by a different face

The trails has been blazed and the tracks have been made

When the stories over it’ll just fade

Perfection; my greatest strength and weakness.

A truer tale has not been told. Towns I've known are falling to addictions. So many people cannot find joy in their lives. That is the curse of addiction. You no longer enjoy the simple things in life. That is why people have to hit bottom. Then they do without any comforts and it kinda resets them, so they can enjoy the simplest comfort.

I am a man with one distinguishing manner. I view life as a nonstop roll by circus. Whatever my senses signal to my brain, it is received as humor.

Many people don't realize how good they have it, and they won't until they've felt the opposite of it. You can't apreciate happiness if you aven't felt sadness, and you haven't really laughed of you had never cried. People sometimes just need to hit the bottom, ground zero, because then they know how wonderful even the simplest joys are.

I'm breaking constantly, continuously and always, it's just that nobody sees it - but I'm fine with that, as long as there's something to fix me, too. ~ Me

I completely agree with this statement. It took me awhile to figure this out one out but it is absolutely true.
