Shrouded in darkness.

My wings now broken and bound to the floor.

Because of you; I will fly no more.

Bravo KC. Reading this makes one realize that much can be said with very few words.......................

This is beautiful...

It reminds me of my english class we were speaking of Byron and Hemingway and how they could paint a picture with so few words

This did exactly that

Thank you Eternallyyours.kcaylix and ILoveBooks12... your comments mean so much. There have been so many entries for this 20 words or less contest that have painted a picture in my mind with so few words. I believe that there are some very talented writers here.

Many thanks again both of you and everyone else who has left comments.

Tragic, and that last line is heavy! Just enough words, precise. Great write :) .

Thank you uniquelylost. Yes, that last line is heavy and I can only imagine if someone uttered it to me I would be crushed that I had hurt someone that way. Sometimes though, our actions and our words to others do shatter their hopes and dreams leaving them broken. We must all learn to have my sympathy towards others.

Thank you for your comments.
