across a beige and black marble floor

tray in hand

came a man

each step seemed bold

chef sent him with

a green grape salad

cheese buns and earl gray tea

a fitting lunch for the poet

he handed it to me

just as

binders of paper

stacked in the corner of the room

tipped

fell and

metaphors spilled across

the marble floor like waves of

pain and frustration

onto an anxiety shore

peace on papers hang

inside spaces

between lines

memories are painted in vivid colors

with neon markers

by the artist

five nails

driven into

the wall of my mind

bent like hooks to hold

name tags

four tags hang

the last hook is mine

Incredible. My favorite of yours to date. I'd like to think there's some truth to this piece :) .

I love the flow of this and I can only imagine that the food mentioned (if eaten) was delectable :)

Damn you're good.

Wow this is an excellent poem, the story, imagery, and metaphors. I especially loved the fourth and fifth stanza. Great work :)
