A meadow of summer flowers

lived in brushstrokes of my fingers

A sunrise along a mountain vista

rose in my eye's teary mist

When my soul glides to the heavenly sky

the Northern lights will still beam in my eyes

A living painting of my emotions crashed in the tide

My watercolors will find peace and subside

I drifted aimlessly through time

when I needed to look deep inside

I sought a perfect Nirvana, a resting place,

and I found it in my own landscape

This is lovely. I enjoyed the metaphor and the word choice. Nice work!

Bravo @rainbowrider ........... I like the idea of my soul gliding to heavenly skies. Agree with @tlhopkinson (aka Perfect Patty and Trish the Dish) metaphorical use and word choice is spot on..... Really liked this poem............ Liked the ending.........

"I sought a perfect Nirvana, a resting place,

and I found it in my own landscape" Very appropriate.........

Adorable? Yeppers I am............ Was that sarcasm?........ You opened the box dear, I'm just handing out the contents for everyone to enjoy........ So @tlhopkinson I would offer not to hate the player but hate the game in this case... Besides Perfect Patty and Trish the Dish just suit the hell out of you.

On a different note there is a movie On The Road......... yep Kerouac's book. I dvr'd it last night and hopefully will get to look at it some time before I leave Friday.......

Nice, I don't think I've seen it. I'll have to check it out. I think I remember when it was being made, but then spaced it off after that. Another good read you should consider is Off the Road by Carolyn Cassady, Neil's wife. A different look in, but still well written, a great read. I am planning to read the letter you shared with me the other day sometime today. I saw Kill your Darlings a few years back at Sundance. Early stories of the same beat gen guys. Pretty awesome stuff, even with the star of Harry Potter in it :). JK, I actually quite like Radcliffe and he did a great job in Kill your Darlings.

I couldn't sit through two hours and five minutes of that movie........... I made it 28 minutes and I'm off to the kitchen to make a gooey pumpkin butter cake for tomorrow........... Might have been spot on but I couldn't see torturing myself for that long....... You have me searching for Rexroth poems anyway just now......... Been so damn long since I've read his work it sounds like the thing to do on a snowy day............. That or go shopping for a new bike......... Haven't seen the other movies you mentioned and it'll probably be some time before I do........... I'm more hands on and I can put a book down and pick it back up at an airport..................

Yeah, it's hard for me to commit to films outside a film festival, which equates to more of a well-rounded experience.
