Running Among the Dead
Running Among the Dead- by Dasher
She went in the morning,
when the sun still rested on the hills,
to the cemetery down the street.
She went there to run,
said it made her feel alive.
Running from death among the dead.
In the afternoons she returned,
carrying flowers to set down.
She sits in the grass in front of two graves.
She speaks to them,
says she loves them and that she won’t give up.
In the morning she runs again,
to remind her how it feels to be alive.
Running from death among the dead.
